IMU-CET is Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test. This test is compulsory to pass if you want to join Merchant Navy in Officer Rank and wish to take admission in Indian Maritime University affiliated Institutes. IMU-CET is an ONLINE computer based exam conducted in various cities of India.
The exam pattern of IMU CET comprises 200 questions of following subjects of 10+2 level. All questions are Multiple Choice (MCQ) types and carry 1 mark each. There is no negative marking for wrong answer. Duration of the exam is 3 hours.

Syllabus of IMU-CET
Syllabus for IMU-CET includes all the topics of Class 11th as well as of Class 12th. However as per previous year exams following pattern has been noticed.
- English – Mostly general English and 10th standard grammar.
- General Aptitude – 10th standard numerical & general ability questions along with geography related General knowledge.
- Physics – All chapters of class 11th and 12th with more emphasis on Mechanics.
- Mathematics – All chapters of Class 11th and 12th.
- Chemistry – Mostly organic and physical chemistry.
